Itinerary

Day 1 : Marrakech – High Atlas – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley

We will pick you up from your accommodation in Marrakech at 8 a.m. and head to the High Atlas mountains. We will drive through Tizi N'Tichka pass with stops for panoramic views and photo opportunities of the Berber villages in the landscape. Our next destination is the ksar (fortified village) of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This iconic location has been featured in many famous movies, including Gladiator, The Mummy, and Sahara. You'll have free time for lunch in town before we continue to Ouarzazate, known as "The Gate of the Desert." Here, we'll visit the Taourirt Kasbah, one of the most spectacular ksars in Morocco. Our journey will then take us through the Rose Valley, featuring the expansive Skoura palm grove and numerous kasbahs. The valley is famous for its damascene roses, which are used to produce valued rosewater. Finally, we'll arrive at the Dades Valley and spend the night.

Day 2 : Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga – Camel Trek and overnight in the berber tent

After breakfast, we will enjoy one of the most beautiful views of the Dades Valley from a strategic vantage point—lookout in the mountains. From there, we can appreciate many kasbahs and their scenic characteristics. An excellent asphalt road leads up the valley from Tinerhir to the gorge and the desert. After some stops, We will arrive at the Todra Gorges, where you can witness the spectacular scenery and observe the local people living in their adobe villages. These gorges are famous among rock climbers thanks to their rock sides with many uneven surfaces. After a brief walk in the Todra Gorges, you'll have some free time for lunch in either Tinejdad or Touroug. Afterward, we'll continue our journey to the desert to reach the magnificent dunes of Merzouga. We will take a one-hour camel ride to our nomad camp amid the sea of dunes (Erg Chebbi). Before dinner, we'll observe the sunset from the top of a dune and spend the night in a tent under the beautiful starry sky. After a short walk in the Todra gorges, you'll have free time for lunch in Tinejdad or Touroug, and then we'll continue our way to the desert to reach the spectacular dunes of Merzouga. We'll take a camel ride for one hour to our nomad camp in the middle of a sea of dunes (Erg Chebbi). Before dinner, we'll see the sunset at the top of a dune and sleep in a tent under a beautiful starry sky.  After a short walk in the Todra Gorges, you'll have free time for lunch in Tinejdad or Touroug. Afterward, we'll continue our journey to the desert to reach the spectacular dunes of Merzouga. We'll take a one-hour camel ride to our nomad camp in the middle of the sea of dunes (Erg Chebbi). Before dinner, we'll watch the sunset from the top of a dune and sleep in a tent under the beautiful starry sky.
 

Day 3: Merzouga Desert – Nomads Families – Khamlia Village – Erg Chebbi

Today will be a complete desert day with a "date with the sunrise." Suppose you find yourself in the middle of the desert. In that case, it's worth getting up early to witness the most spectacular sunrise at the top of a dune near the camp and enjoy this incredible landscape gifted by nature. After sunrise, we will return to Merzouga on camels for a hearty breakfast. Then, we'll travel around Erg Chebbi, a vast expanse of sandy desert where we can find the Big Dune of Morocco, which stands over 250 meters high. We will then follow the road previously used for the "Paris-Dakar" rally, ending in the mountains bordering Agelia. Our next stop will be at Tissardmin Oasis, where we can find fossil quarries still in the area. Continuing, we will pass through a road where we can see nomad settlements and learn about their secrets and ways of life. Our next stop will be at a viewpoint to admire the vast expanse of Erg Chebbi. We will then reach Kamilia Village, originally from Mali, where we'll have a relaxing cup of tea while enjoying a concert of the spiritual music of Gnawa. After that, we'll transfer to your accommodation, and you'll have a free afternoon to enjoy the town or the dunes next to the hotel and witness the sunset. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Day 4 :Merzouga Desert – Ziz Valley – Cedar forests of Azrou – Fes

After breakfast, we start our last day in the north by traveling through the Tafilalet palm grove, the largest in the world. Along the 20km road, you'll see thousands of palm trees. This leads us to the Ziz Valley, where the river flows down from the High Atlas and feeds the palm grove. We will stop to enjoy a magnificent view of the valley and the town of Aoufous from a high viewpoint. Afterward, we will stop in Midelt, located in the heart of the Atlas, where you'll have free time for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, we continue our journey through the Cedar Woods, where, if we are lucky, we may see some monkeys. Our next stop is the city of Ifrane, situated on the northwestern slope of the Middle Atlas at 1630 meters above sea level. Its broad avenues, urban development, cleanliness, gardens, green areas, and architecture give the city a Swiss town appearance. Ifrane is often called "Moroccan Switzerland" and has a prominent ski resort in Michigan. At about 6 pm, we will arrive in Fez, transfer to the hotel, and end our services.
